Carleton Place Chamber of Commerce
During the summer of 2017, I had the opportunity in working for the Carleton Place Chamber of Commerce as their photographer. I was hired to photograph the Town of Carleton Place for historical purposes as well as for their 2018 town guide and their social media. My time there was very educational and productive because I did more than what my job titled required, I had the chance to design postcards, brochures, posters, t-shirts, guide cover, and many different types of logos. At the Chamber, I used an extensive range of technical equipment (camera, lenses, and lighting and specialist software. I had to communicate with models, putting them at ease, as well as encouraging and directing.
I know my camera like it’s the back of my hand. I have had many opportunities to be able to show off some of my photography skills. Personally, I don’t like to think of photography as a job. I feel fulfilled every time I see my model face once I capture that perfect moment for them. After I finish a session I always think to myself “I would have done that for free”, this is because I truly enjoy connecting with people to make them feel comfortable and at ease when I am taking their photo.
